PROGRAM NOTE:

Light Wheel (concert band) was composed in the fall of 2021. The external images that match my first musical ideas for Light Wheel are changing colored lights projected onto objects such as buildings and Christmas trees. Sometimes as the colors change they will slowly blur together before the new color is revealed. Sometimes the colors change suddenly. Both of these images are represented in Light Wheel. Harmonic and instrumental colors change, evolve, and sometimes suddenly shift. Some colors are warm and muted. Others are bold and brilliant.
